Meet Chris Flood-Gutierrez
Certified Child Life Specialist
Chris has 25 years experience as the Child Life Coordinator at a level one trauma center and nationally recognized pediatric children’s hospital. She holds a Master’s Degree in child development and a certification in the field of Child Life and assisted in overseeing child life services and family centered care. Although her primary focus was in the pediatric intensive care unit, she also assisted with patient care in other units throughout the children’s hospital. Through therapeutic play, education, art and multiple healing/relaxation modalities, she helped numerous age groups cope with the stress of hospitalization, acute/chronic conditions, pain, anxiety, invasive procedures, trauma and grief.
Certified Healing Touch Practitioner
Chris is a certified Healing Touch Practitioner and has been using this energetic modality in a hospital setting, primarily in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Unit. In her Healing Touch practice A Touch of Healing…For Your Mind, Body, & Soul, she sees adults and teens helping them cope with grief, anxiety, trauma, as well as pain and stress associated with chronic conditions, palliative care and provides them with relaxation techniques to incorporate in their daily life.
Herbs & Health
Many years ago Chris began working in the field of natural healing. Her path led her to Nature’s Sunshine Products (NSP), a world-renowned leader in herbs and nutritional supplements. Working with the plant realm created a deep and loving relationship and respect for the ability of herbs to offer the necessary elements to balance the body and provide the nutrients required for the body to function optimally.
Chris has helped many people using one of the simplest, most effective approaches to wellness. She offers her clients safe, powerful products and supports and guides them diligently on their wellness path. With a vast product line covering herbs for every body system, you can rest assured that your herbal/vitamin nutritional needs can be met.
Since 2012, Chris has been training in numerous indigenous healing modalities that she has incorporated into her practice and is an Everyday ShamanicTM Practitioner bringing oral ancient tradition, indigenous wisdom and current research into everyday living. Chris is also a Women’s Ways™ Circle Facilitator, providing a safe space for women to gather and share their stories. Women meet the last Saturday of the month at 2pm.
